This factory started building lacquer furniture in the traditional style at the beginning of
the 20th century and have continued without change ever since.

These highly skilled Chinese craftsmen in honor of their Old World tradition meticulously cover
solid teakwood in several coats of thick enamel. After this process, several coats of clear
polyurethane is applied leaving a thick colorful and smooth finish. The furniture shines like glass.

The furniture shown with Mother-of-Pearl lady figures was originally made with abalone
shell cultivated from the Pacific Ocean. Now with a lack of real shell available they use a Soapstone
material that provides the same stunning look and protects the Abalone from cultivation.
